The Woman of the Year award aims to acknowledge and celebrate the successes a of Sister who has contributed to fulfilling part of our mission. The award embodies the continuing strength, grit and determination of women. It should acknowledge a woman who is making a difference in her world during these turbulent times.


We are proud to announce our Woman of the Year for 2024 is Fran Day.  Fran is proof positive of what a volunteer can really do.  Fran joined SOSB and jumped in with both feet.  She chairs the Irish History/Culture committee, organized a trip to Ireland and three cultural trips: one to the Hunger Memorial and Freedom Tower in NYC, one to Ellis Island/The Barge and one to the Irish Tenement Museum and McSorley’s.  She was appointed Trustee for her efforts and was voted Vice President.  One of her nominations said it best, “Fran exemplifies hard word and commitment, much like the Irish women who have raised us all.  She is an exceptional example of the women we strive to be.


We are proud to announce our Woman of the Year for 2023 is Anne Kostyak.


We are proud to announce our Woman of the Year for 2022 is Kerri-Lynn Walsh-Wood.


We are proud to announce our Woman of the Year for 2021 is Anne Cahill.


We are proud to announce our Woman of the Year for 2020 is Mary Waller.
